cannabis financial cohort: funding growth Portland, or
Application deadline: December 20, 2024
On average, a licensed cannabis brand will cost $500,000 or more to start from scratch. A white-label brand will cost $200,000 to launch. Cannabis companies must secure outside funding early and more than once in their lifecycle. Recognizing that financial acumen and fundraising readiness is a baseline for cannabis entrepreneurs, this cohort fast tracks cannabis founders to readying the financial and business plan documents necessary to secure outside capital.
Over 6 months, the Funding Growth Cohort will combine online courses, a 3-day workshop, one-to-one coaching, and peer support to ready participants with the financial documents, confidence, and community to take on cannabis fundraising. Whether this is your first time fundraising or your fourth, the cohort will help you approach outside capital as a powerful asset to fuel your growth with two tracks: one tailored for startups and one tailored for operating businesses.

You’ll have the templates and coaching to complete the business and financial documents needed for fundraising, and have the knowledge to speak to your financials. Hands-On & In-Person
Cohort participants should reserve their calendars to dedicate Jan 13 – 15 to fueling their growth. Attendance at this 3-day in-person workshop is mandatory for successful document completion. Over 3 days, cohorts will further the financial and business plan documents you’ve started online. The classroom setting includes instructors providing 1:1 and group support. The 3 days also include wellness therapies to support your mental health because fundraising is a long arduous journey.

Connected Community Support
Broad community connections with other Portland cannabis founders are made through in-person meet-ups and online forums. As well, cohorts are connected to a small group of peer participants on a similar fundraising path. Additionally, “accountability partners” give cohorts a peer to help motivate completion of milestones and documents.
