CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR

About the Role: The Construction Coordinator at JJS Holdings is responsible for assisting the project management team with the execution of assigned projects. This role will assist in ensuring compliance with all aspects of the property development process including due diligence, design, entitlements, construction, tenant coordination, completion and opening, warranty, and closeout. 

 

Responsibilities 

Assist in the day‐to‐day management of development projects including the oversight of project contractors and consultants.  

  • Assist in the day‐to‐day management of development projects including the oversight of project contractors and consultants.
  • Assist with procurement of due diligence items including surveys, inspections, assessments, entitlements, off‐site agreements and permits. 
  • Assist with the selection, contracting and oversight of the project team such as architects and engineers, expediters, contractors, and vendors. 
  • Assist with coordination of design and construction efforts, including processing contracts, change orders, pay applications, invoices, and project close-out documentation.
  • Assist with documenting periodic project operational performance updates, including budget and schedule.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in Real Estate Development for a development or title company or experience working in the Construction Industry – commercial, i.e. construction management company or general contractor
  • Experience working quickly in an ambiguous environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel/Power Point/Visio and DocuSign. 
  • Must be attentive to detail, proactive, results-oriented, and dependable.  
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment, take initiative, function independently, and work in close cooperation with others.  
  • Must have good interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills. 
  • Must be able to coordinate and prioritize a variety of tasks in a fast‐paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a retail or restaurant roll-out program is a plus.
  • Working knowledge in the following programs is considered a strong positive: Microsoft Projects, Microsoft Access, Quickbase, Procore (or other project management tools) Adobe PDF Editor, Kanban tools and BlueBeam Revu.

Compensation for this role will vary depending on the candidate’s level of experience.
